my story

about george

My baseball journey? It kicked off when I was a spirited 7-year-old, delivering a strikeout so dramatic it could've been in a comedy. That miss is still a good laugh today, but it also ignited my passion for pitching.

Fast forward a bit, and I stumbled headfirst into sports broadcasting. My brain's a pro at recalling player stats and game scores, but math formulas? Not so much. It's like I was born to talk sports. One day, my sister, a film student, tossed me in front of a camera, and I just started chatting about our family's fantasy football stats, completely off the cuff. It was hilarious and slightly mortifying, but it made me realize that's what I wanted to study in college, even though I was only an 8th grader at the time.

Recently, I've embraced the art of embracing discomfort, both in life and on the field. Life's a rollercoaster of wins, losses, and spectacular failures. But every day, my goal is to be better than I was the day before. I strive for greatness, aiming not only to play professional ball but to excel in it.

Now, what makes me a strong candidate for your team? It's not just my unwavering dedication to improvement; it's my love for the game, my ability to adapt, and my genuine teamwork with teammates. I don't play for personal glory; I play for the team's success. I support my fellow players without envy because I believe character is best shown in how you treat those who've raised you. Baseball's my teacher, instilling patience, the power of a sports family, and the magic of hard work and persistence.

So here's the kicker – I'm never fully satisfied with my performance, be it on the field, in school, or in my personal life. But I'm no quitter. My philosophy is simple: every morning is another shot at my ultimate goal, another day to hear those thrilling words that make my heart race, "Let's play ball"!”
